The Sartek ELB2200 is simply an AMAZING light. It is the best kept secret in diving! It utilizes the new generation LED with a special video reflector. Althoguh rated at only 220 lumens, the output is similar to that of a 10W HID canister light - at the fraction of the cost and weight. Although often marketed as a backup light, I travel with this light as my primary when visiting tropical locations as it is very easy to travel and dive with and unbelievably bright. Other divers are always in awe over how bright this light is underwater. In our murky Pacific Northwest waters, I dive with an 18W HID canister light as my primary but always bring my ELB2200 as my backup. When I need a backup, there is not much fall-off in light output and I still have a high qulaity dive. I fasten a stainless steel clip to the end of the ELB2200 so it inconspicuously and conveniently attaches to a D-ring of my BCD.
